Finally!!! It's cold enough to wear some of the heavier sweaters. This one is "Russian Prime" from Meg Swansen's "Knitting". Knit in one piece with steeks to the shoulders, sleeves picked up in pattern and knit to the cuff. I cord is placed around the neck and along the top of the shoulders. Knit it in Elann's Peruvian Highland wool and yes it does pill down the sleeves. A second one in red/white was given to my sister Christmas a year ago. Wonder if it ever gets cold enough in VA for her to wear it?

Ah Anne: The sweater looks great on you. You and the sweater are lovely. I didn't guess you were such a cute model! (g)

Very nice sweater--and, as a quilter, I was also impressed by your quilt on the wall!

Hi Anne - How is the Elann's Peruvian Highland holding up? I'm thinking of picking some up for my Rissian Prime (that I've not started because my book is in the states and I'm still here in Mexico). What are the yardage requirements?

Terry - The Peruvian Highland Wool is holding up just great. It is a heavy sweater, definitely a winter climate sweater. It is not piling and washes very well. I used 12 balls of each color (12 x 109 yards = 1308 yards x 2 colors). There was a little bit of the last ball left over but the yardage was comfortable for the size 44.
